Getting Started with PubCounter

Welcome to PubCounter! This guide will help you get started with managing your congregation’s publication inventory.

What is PubCounter?

PubCounter is a modern web application designed to help Jehovah’s Witnesses congregations efficiently track and manage their publication inventory. Key features include:

  • Weight-based counting - Quickly count publications using a scale
  • Real-time synchronization - Multiple users can work simultaneously
  • Automated reports - Generate PDF and Excel reports with one click
  • Reorder management - Track publication orders from request to delivery
  • Multi-congregation support - Manage multiple congregations in one Kingdom Hall

Understanding Roles

PubCounter uses a three-tier permission system:

RolePermissions
UserCount publications, submit counts for approval, create reorder requests
AdminAll user permissions + approve counts, manage users in their congregation
Super AdminAll admin permissions + manage publications, configure Kingdom Hall settings

Reporting Periods

Section titled “Reporting Periods”

PubCounter follows the Jehovah’s Witnesses inventory cycle:

  • Days 11-31 of a month → Counts apply to the next month’s report
  • Days 1-10 of a month → Counts apply to the current month’s report

For example, if you count on January 15th, those counts go toward the February report. If you count on February 5th, those counts go toward the February report.
